Grass Roots Collective: website and retail platform built from scratch

Grass Roots Collective started without a website. CloudMonkey designed and built its branded website and the connected customer, retail and store-operations platform, then later moved the live service to new cloud hosting.

Grass Roots Collective · CloudMonkey owner-authorized delivery record; not a customer testimonial · · Updated

Problem

Grass Roots Collective had no website or digital platform for customers to discover the business, browse its offering, manage membership or place online orders. The need was for a complete branded web presence connected to the operational systems behind its stores.

Scope

CloudMonkey built the public website, customer account and membership journeys, online store, checkout and order experience, plus the API and staff tools that support catalogue, inventory, point-of-sale and day-to-day store operations. Hosting migration was a later phase of the work, not the original project.

Solution

A purpose-built platform now brings together the customer-facing Grass Roots website, member services, online shopping and in-store operations. The live site is the result of a full product build; the subsequent hosting move was one part of operating that platform. This page is a delivery record, not a customer testimonial.

Implementation

  1. Designed and implemented the website and application as a new digital product for a business that previously had no website.
  2. Built the browser experience, API and PostgreSQL-backed workflows for customers, members and staff.
  3. Connected online and in-store retail flows to shared catalogue, inventory, order, membership and operational data.
  4. Later migrated the live application and database to cloud hosting and checked public pages, API health and production storefront behavior.
