PickItUp: logistics booking and operations platform

A logistics platform bringing service discovery, quote and booking journeys together with customer, driver, partner and dispatch workflows.

PickItUp · CloudMonkey owner-authorized delivery record; not a customer testimonial · · Updated

Problem

Transport and equipment requests need a traceable process from service selection and route details through capacity confirmation, booking and delivery updates, with distinct tools for customers and operators.

Scope

The repository implements a marketplace application and public service website for transport, trailer hire and enquiry-led heavy equipment and vehicle support. It includes role-based customer, driver, partner, dispatcher and administration workflows.

Solution

PickItUp combines a customer booking and tracking experience with operational workflows for offers, resource assignment and delivery proof. Public service paths clearly distinguish book-online journeys from services that begin with an enquiry. Production payment, provider and operating readiness remain subject to documented release gates.

Stack

  • React and TypeScript
  • Node.js and Express API
  • PostgreSQL
  • Docker-based backend deployment

Platform features built

  • Customer quote and booking flow with route details, approved price snapshots, capacity checks and booking status/proof views.
  • Driver application and document workflow, job offers, progress updates and delivery proof.
  • Partner asset registration and agreement approval before inventory becomes bookable.
  • Dispatcher assignment and offers, plus admin controls for providers, assets, rates, staff and reconciliation records.
  • Public service discovery for transport and trailer hire, with enquiry-first paths for heavy equipment and PitStop vehicle support.

Implementation

  1. Built the public website and database-backed marketplace as connected customer and operations experiences.
  2. Added role-specific workflows and server-side booking rules for approved prices, capacity and stored booking terms.
  3. Documented external provider, admin provisioning, payment settlement, webhook and email checks as explicit launch gates.
